UTHealth Houston School of Behavioral Health Sciences was established to grow a workforce that will meet the growing mental health care needs for children and adults. UTHealth Houston provides exceptional clinical training opportunities for students through its behavioral health campus that includes the John S. Dunn Behavioral Sciences Center and UTHealth Houston Harris County Psychiatric Center (HCPC), as well as nearly 24 UT Physicians Community Based Clinics and 13 community healthcare systems, whereas all services are provided through Louis A. Faillace, MD, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.
Our Clinical Psychology programs (MS, PhD, PsyD) combine academic training with immersive clinical experiences to prepare students for impactful careers in mental health care, research, and education. Whether pursuing licensure or advanced study, students develop expertise in evidence-based practice, psychological assessment, and competent care.
The MSW in Clinical Social Work program empowers students to become Licensed Clinical Social Workers equipped to serve diverse communities through evidence-based mental health care. With a curriculum grounded in CSWE competencies and a focus on clinical and medical social work, graduates are prepared to lead in both practice and policy.
The MS and PhD programs in Cognitive and Behavioral Sciences explore how the brain shapes human behavior across the lifespan through interdisciplinary training in psychology, neuroscience, and biomedical science. Students gain hands-on research experience and a strong academic foundation to prepare for careers in behavioral science, technology, and health care.
